Our agritourist farm and health spa in the Cilento National Park gives you the perfect setting for a truly relaxing break. At Agriturismo Iscairia you find peaceful seclusion surrounded by beautiful countryside. As you relax in our spa, you will be able to lie back and enjoy magnificent panoramas of Elea-Velia and the surrounding rolling mountains.
A samovar of tea and herbal infusions is always available to help recharge mind and body.

With numbers limited to just 4 at a time, our spa is perfect for those special, quiet autumn and winter afternoons you need to recharge batteries and unwind from the stresses of daily life.


The Benefits of a Turkish sauna.

A Turkish sauna has many beneficial effects. By relaxing in a controlled environment of 100% humidity and temperature of between 20-40°C your pores dilate to sweat toxins from the body – including salt, nicotine, cholesterol, heavy metals. The heat also improves the circulation. As in the eastern tradition, the Turkish sauna is also serves excellent place to socialise and make new friends.

  • Relaxes the body and mind and boosts the body’s immune system

Turkish sauna tips and advice:

  • Choose a comfortable space
  • Maximum 20 minutes or before should you start to feel light-headeness or discomfort
  • Cool down with a cold shower
  • Re-enter again for 15 minutes
  • Take another cold shower or immerse yourself in the cold tub for 1 minute
  • Slowly dry your body to readjust it to the ambient temperature
  • Lie down covered with a blanket and relax for at least 20 minutes
  • Remember to replenish liquid with water or herbal infusions.

Benefits of the Traditional Dry Sauna

Similar to the Turkish Sauna, Dry Sauna detoxifies your body by dilating the pores and expelling toxins. The heat kickstarts the circulation and lymphatic function, improving skin condition and elasticity. The heat also helps relaxation and reduces insomnia and restlessness.

Benefits:

  • this movement of around 1l of liquid through sweating helps detoxify the body, slow the metabolism and cleanse the skin.
  • The heart, circulation, skin and the respiratory system- as an effect to improving the function of these, Sauna helps protect your body against sinus infections, cold and influenza.

Suggestions:

  • Avoid heavy meals before sauna.
  • Drinking a hot herbal infusion before sauna can help sweating.
  • A shower before sauna helps the skin dilate the pores and relaxes the body.
  • Keep your first sauna session to 10 minutes and avoid vapour (i.e. don’t throw water on the heating stones).
  • When you get out of the sauna, a gentle cold shower will help readjust body temperature.
  • Next, enjoy the body’s release of natural endorphins lying down wrapped in a bathrobe or blanket for 15 minutes.
  • Now re-enter the sauna for about 10 minutes. The skin now becomes smoother and more elastic: a moisturizing cream being the perfect to end the sauna.
  • Remember to replenish your liquids with water or herbal infusions. Avoid sweet drinks before and after sauna.

Caution:

sauna isn’t suitable for people with heart or pulmonary diseases, hypertension and circulatory problems. Consult your doctor before taking any heat bath.
